·      Contaminant fate and transport in the (aqueous) environment

·      Physical, chemical, and biological processes for water treatment and water quality control

·      Water resources and water re-use

·      Mass transfer in natural and engineered systems

·      Contaminant behavior in groundwater

·      Remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater

·      Geologic sequestration of carbon dioxide

·      Recovery of resources from “waste” streams (solid waste and waste water)
