Text Box: INFORMATION: CHEW-CHEW is the world’s first food powered robot (ca. 2000). CHEW-CHEW eats only sugar cubes, and nothing else. CHEW-CHEW uses an on-board Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) to convert the sugar to electrical power. No external power sources are used. CHEW-CHEW must be fed by hand, but all other operations are autonomous.

Fact: Microbial Fuel Cells are bioelectrochemical devices that harness the metabolizing power of microorganisms or enzymes to convert the chemical energy of food into electrical power. BUY ONE
