Orientation gives us the opportunity to meet with you to discuss your curriculum, assist you in the registration process, and answer any questions you may have. An addition we will including information on the following:
- Overview of the college and departments
- College and Departmental Admission Requirements
- Academics Policies and Procedures
- Student Resources and Services
Your Orientation experience is a two-day experience with an overnight stay in one of our residence halls. You will attend sessions designed to provide you with the information necessary to be a successful student at USF. These sessions include: academic overview, curriculum planning, involvement, on-campus living, transition concerns and many more!
Family members attend a separate, but concurrent, session over the two-day experience designed for their needs and concerns as a family member of a new USF student. Sessions in the Family Orientation include: college overview, involvement, financial aid, services available to students, assisting your student with the college transition and many more!

Transfer Student Checklist
- Sign up as soon as possible for orientation.
- To prepare for orientation, please complete the graduation plan.
- Contact an advisor to review your classes and bring copies of your transcripts with you. Have the official transcript sent to Admissions Office.
- Clear up any holds that would prevent your registration. For example, Student Health Services for immunization, insurance, etc. A list of registration hold codes at what they mean can be found online at http://www.ugs.usf.edu/academicadvising/holds.htm.
