I presently serve as an Associate Provost for Policy Analysis, Planning, and Performance at the University of South Florida. I am also a Professor in the Department of Industrial & Management Systems Engineering. My current research areas are: power markets and environmental regulations, in particular, cap-and-trade; preparedness and dynamic mitigation of pandemic influenza outbreaks; cancer care engineering for screening, intervention, and treatment planning. I also direct a National Science Foundation supported GK-12 project aimed at building 21st century technology workforce by infusing engineering and science in K-12 curriculum.
