Our research activities focus on the study and development of electronic materials and devices for
opto-electronic applications. Materials of interest include compound II-VI and I-III-VI thin film
semicondutors, transparent conducting oxides, and other compounds required for the fabrication
of solar cels, light emitting diodes, and x-ray detectors. Our facilities - Thin Film Electronic
Materials Laboratory - are fully equiped with processing equipment for the complete fabrication
and characterization of solar cells. Present and past sponsors of our research are: the
National Renewable Energy Laboratory (of DOE) (NREL),
DOE, NASA and NSF. Private sponsors included Sciperio Inc. (formerly CMS
Technetronics), Spire Corp.,
Constellation Technology Inc. (CTC)., and
Umicore.
