Some recent research projects are summarized below. |

Current approaches to assembly at the micro/nano scales limit our ability to combine materials made from different processes. We are working on new techniques that will enable new levels of device integration. |

3D printing is a rapid prototyping technique that permits rapid fabrication of complicated geometries. However, application is currently limited by part deformations during post-processing. We are using nanoparticles to reduce the deformations and increase the final part accuracy. |

We are developing methods for using solar heating to test thermal protection systems (TPS) under extreme temperatures (>2000° C) and fluxes (>200 W/cm2). |
