Research Interests

Dr. Pyrtle’s research interests are in the areas of thermal management of microelectronic devices, development of solutions for microscale heat dissipation challenges, and two-phase heat transfer cooling devices.  Fundamental research efforts are in two-phase heat transfer, droplet and spray cooling, evaporation, and micro/nano scale heat transfer.  Applied research efforts are in electronics cooling, loop heat pipe and thermosyphon technology, and thermoelectric cooling devices.
