Interfacial Polymer Materials

Ryan Toomey, Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering

Welcome to our group!

In our laboratory, we are interested in developing engineered polymer surfaces capable of directing and controlling specific behavior for emerging microscale and nanoscale technologies. Projects include targeted separation of microorganisms and cells, regenerable surfaces, “smart” polymer films with reversible molecular recognition, and engineered, soft surfaces with built-in sensing and signal transduction properties.
