Dr. Sesha S. Srinivasan has received his Ph.D. from Center for Advanced Studies in Physics, Banaras Hindu University, India in the year 2000. His doctoral specialization is on the “research and development of novel hydrogen storage materials for device applications”. Srinivasan received "Young Scientist Award" from the International Union of Crystallography in 1998. He played a pivotal role in designing the hydrogen/hydride two wheeler vehicle project funded by the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources, India. He also initiated the Indo-Ukrainian joint scientific collaboration on hydrogen storage development supported by Ministry of Science and Technology, India. This was the outcome of his visit to Ukraine in 1999 to deliver an invited talk during International Conference on Hydrogen Material Science and Chemistry of Metal Hydrides.
Dr. Srinivasan then joined the research group of Dr. Craig M. Jensen, Department of Chemistry, University of Hawaii as a Post Doctoral Fellow in the year 2002. He actively involved in the synthesis, doping, purification and characterization of novel light weight complex materials (Ti- doped NaAlH4) for fuel cell applications funded by US-DOE and Japan WE-NET projects. He developed simple and efficient solvent mediated milling technique for the synthesis of complex hydrides from the elemental mixtures. He was instrumental in preparing and shipping purified and doped alanate complex hydrides to Japan Steel Works, GE Global Research, IFE, Norway and University of Milan, Italy.
Right now, Dr. Srinivasan is working for the Clean Energy Research Center, University of South Florida, as a Post Doctoral Research Scientist. His research is mainly focused on the hydrogen production, storage and photocatalysis. He is leading the hydrogen storage and semiconductor photocatalysis projects funded by US-DOE, NASA and Center for Biological Defense. He has contributed 2 book chapters, 1 review article, 35 international journal publications and many more conference proceedings. He is an active member of reputed scientific bodies such as MRS, ACS, AIChE, TMS, IAHE and Indian Chapter of US-APS and MRS societies.
