Goal

To introduce the students to the Motorola MC68000 and the MC68HC11 structure, assembly language programming, and interfacing concepts.

Lab Reports

Informal Lab Reports

Lab reports are due one week after the lab date and should contain the following sections:
  1. Purpose of the assignment
  2. Theory of concepts employed in assignment
  3. Preliminary Exercise solutions.
  4. Results (usually in tabular form).
  5. Conclusion relating the Purpose, Theory, and Results
The Purpose, Theory, and Preliminary Exercises solutions ideally should be completed before class. The Results and Conclusions sections can be handwritten and attatched to the others for submission.

Formal Post-Lab Reports

These reports are due one week after the scheduled lab date since they require more thoroughness than the informal reports. These reports should contain the following sections:
  1. Purpose of the assignment
  2. Theory of concepts employed in assignment
  3. Procedure for editing, assembling, running, and debugging.
  4. Program Description that outlines the major functions of the program and their implementation
  5. Results (usually in tabular form)
  6. Conclusion relating the Purpose, Theory, and Results
  7. Appendix that includes the following:

Informal Lab Reports (8) 25 A = 90 - 100
Formal Post-lab Reports (2) 10 B = 80 - 89
Exam 1 15 C = 70 - 79
Quizzes (4 or 5) 10 D = 60 - 69
Project with Formal Report 15 F = 00 - 59
Exam 2 25
