Engineering Technology ?

These degrees are typically either 2-year Associate's degrees or 4-year Technology degrees obtained at a Community Colleges or Technical Institutions.

A graduate with one of those degrees will typically work as an engineering technician, lab assistant, technical repairperson, or an engineering sales representative.

Degrees in Engineering Technology give the student a cursory knowledge of basic engineering concepts and tend to focus more on hand-on applications as assembly, maintenance, and repair work.

Engineering Science ?

These degrees are generally more rigorous in their approach toward engineering coursework than Engineering technology degrees. While Engineering technology degrees provide only a cursoy knowledge of  basic concept, an Engineering Science degree provides an in-depth study of engineering theories and principles.

There are four types of degrees available in Engineering Science?

An Associate of Science (A.S) degree.  This degree is a two year degree, obtained at a junior college, which basically prepares one for getting a B.S. degree. The advantage of getting an A.S degree is that classes in junior college tend to be smaller so the student will have closer attention from professors.
A Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree  These degrees are four-year obtain at the University level. They prepare student for employment as engineers or for further education. Engineers with B.S degree can find jobs in design, sales, consulting, and, in some cases, management.
A Master of Science (M.S) degree  These degrees can be obtained through either coursework with a thesis or coursework without a thesis. A thesis includes performing research which provides an original contribution to engineering. Engineering with M.S degrees can find jobs in industry in design, management, research and development (R&D), or in academia as instructor at community colleges
A Doctor of Philosophy (pH.D) degree These degrees are for the most ambitious of students. They include some coursework  and significant research which results (hopefully) in a dissertation, a substantial written report Engineers acquiring a PH.D. can find work in R&D (Research and Development) in industry, or as professor at universities. Work as professor would include teaching, research, and service in academia.

               Caution

One should be cautioned that a two-year technical engineering degree generally will not transfer into a four-year engineering science program. If you do decide to pursue a two-year degree in engineering at, for example, a community college, check with the university that you plan to attend for a four-year degree, to make sure that all of your credits will transfer and count towards your four-year degree. Otherwise, you may waste a lot of time and money.
