Five USF Civil and Environmental Engineering students traveled to Anaheim, California to compete in the 2019 Timber-Strong Design Build Competition by the National Council of Structural Engineering Associations and the American Wood Council. The structural engineering competition challenges student teams from universities around the U.S. to design unique two-story wood playhouses and calculate their costs, structural limits and carbon footprints before building each structure on site in under 90 minutes.
