A First Course on Differential Equations, Modeling and Simulation; C.A. Smith and S.W. Campbell; CRC Press, 2011

.front

This is used as the textbook for EGN 3433 Modeling and Analysis of Engineering Systems at USF. The course is a replacement for the traditional Differential Equations course. In addition to covering analytical solutions of ODEs, it focuses on developing mathematical models from fundamental physical principles. In addition, students are exposed to commercial software used for the numerical solution of differential equations. The second edition will be available in February 2016.
